Successful Business Recovery - Case Study
Our client is a supplier of long term maintenance contracts principally to the utility companies. Their business had grown rapidly but they had taken on a major long term contract that was loss making and putting a significant strain on the resources of the company. This resulted in cash flow pressures developing as the risk profile had shifted significantly against them.
The management recognised the need to re-structure the business and deal with the immediate threats to the future of the company. They engaged our services to provide a rapid response to the challenges that they were facing. This resulted in the delivery of the following:
- Working alongside senior management to develop a Strategic Business Plan.
- Instigation of a specific recovery plan for the loss making contract to achieve an acceptable financial position - bankers and auditors fully involved.
- Introduction of commercial disciplines and more appropriate financial information systems.
- Key Performance Indicators developed with targeted approach to reduction in work in progress, and debtor collection days.
This business is now operating profitability from a much more stable financial and commercial platform.
