TMA (UK) are delighted to welcome Phil Armstrong - FRP Advisory LLP, David Bush - Interim Director and Graham Wood - Galen Partners to present at our next Wales & South West event. .jpg)
The evening will be made up of a presentation from one of the administrators of Aquascutum covering what can be done when things go wrong, and how best to avoid them going wrong. This will be followed by a mixed panel (Interim director, a funding specialist and an IP) when there will be the opportunity for Q&A.
The event will be Chaired by Gareth Morris - FRP Advisory LLP
There will of course be the opportunity for networking and refreshments.

Phil is a Chartered Accountant and Licensed Insolvency Practitioner with over 12 years experience in business reviews, turnaround and formal insolvency and has specialist knowledge in many business sectors.
Phil specialises in advising secured lenders and their customers, particularly in the owner-manager sector. Phil has previously spent 18 months seconded with the Global Restructuring Group of The Royal Bank of Scotland and a further 9 months seconded to the Special Situations Unit of HSBC Bank plc, assisting the Banks in developing strategies for dealing with their underperforming customers. Phil was also involved in delivering training programmes for the Bank’s relationship managers

David is a qualified chartered accountant who spent 11 years at Early Learning Centre largely as Finance Director and has subsequently worked for Ernst and Young and Grant Thornton in Corporate Finance and Corporate Restructuring. At Grant Thornton, David was also Head of Retail and one of his roles was the Firm's national retail spokesperson where he was a respected commentator on topical retail matters on national TV and radio as well as the national press
For the last two years, David has been successfully running his own interim management business specialising in assisting under-performing companies in the Retail and Hospitality and Leisure sectors. David has worked with a variety of retailers during his career. A sample of these are as follows:

Graham is Business Turnaround Professional of some 23 years and a partner with Galen Partners one of the UK’s leading firms of specialist SME business support, refinancing and restructuring specialists, Graham has a strong operations bias working with companies typically SME’s with T/O £5-30m funded by plc, venture, private & trust fund sources to improve operation performance and achieve financial turnaround. He is a Member of the Institute for Turnaround, IFT, and holds a current Practicing Certificate. By profession he is a Chartered Engineer
With experience across a wide range of industries including aerospace, automotive products, books, B2B, capital products, defence, distribution, dotcoms, electronics, engineering, fmcg, food, hi-tech, IT, materials handling, medical, office products, retail, servicing rental & repair, printing, stationery, supply chain management, trade distribution, training, utilities, vehicle repair, warehousing and distribution he is able to successfully work with under-performing businesses against difficult operating scenarios
Currently he has returned as Executive Chairman of a 150 employee engineering company that he successfully returned to financial stability some 8 years ago and is also working with several high street retailers seeking greater profitability in these difficult times
Gareth Morris – Gareth is a partner in FRP Advisory’s Bristol office. A licensed insolvency practitioner and chartered accountant Gareth has a wealth of experience of stressed and distressed businesses having first worked in restructuring and insolvency during the recession of the early 1990s. With a particular interest in solvent solutions Gareth works with owner managers, independent directors, and funding providers to return businesses to better financial health.
Most recently Gareth has been working with a multi site family owned and managed retailer to restore profitability and allow for a retirement sale to proceed without the potential value destruction of an insolvency process. .jpg)
