Current trends and future direction of turnaround in the regional SME market.
We are pleased to announce details of our first Bristol event of 2016 kindly being hosted at Bond Dickinson.
This event will be a panel discussion on current trends and future direction of turnaround in the regional SME market.
TMA UK in Wales and the South West are delighted to welcome Andrew Pepper of Snowhill Capital, David Bush of David Bush Associates, Patrick Cook of Burges Salmon, Gareth Slater of KPMG and Jon Dyer of Bibby Financial Services as our guest panellists for the evening.
Within a facilitated panel discussion, our experienced panellists will share recent war stories and the lessons learned, discuss innovative turnaround techniques and know-how and also share their thoughts on future market prospects and developments. There will be an opportunity for questions and, hopefully, a lively debate as well as the usual networking over refreshments.
Andrew Pepper is the CEO of Snowhill Capital, a family office investing in various businesses in the UK.
He started his career †as a restructuring specialist, making partner in 2000 aged 30. He became well known in retail restructuring, being involved in or running many of the most well known issues in 2003-2007. Equally important were ABL clients and manufacturing. In his last year as partner at Kroll, he was billing over £6m from mid market style instructions.
Between 2007 and late 2014 he became CEO and COO of various Hilco Capital businesses. With his co director he led a huge period of expansion, retiring when consolidated turnover hit over £1.2b. Most of the restructuring team came from Kroll and other accountancy firms. Famous companies dealt with or turned around in this period include Woolworths, Habitat, Borders, Denby, HMV and Jessops.
Using restructuring techniques, Snowhill †has invested in and helped grow over 20 businesses, most of which are early /mid stage mid-market investments. All back incumbent management teams.
Recent successes include an innovative building product that has led to multi-million pound contracts, a new style of national car finance, a watch business and beer brand.
Another growing area is NED work. Recent requests interestingly deal with 2 solvent businesses that turnover £600m and £80m and are profitable.
Andrew has over the years spent time in the South West working on numerous projects. Andrew is a main board director of TMA UK.
