London September 2017

TMA UK and Fieldfisher would be delighted if you are able to join us as we explore some key legal risks that apply to corporate turnaround and restructuring professionals, particularly employment risks around redundancy, termination, claims and contracts, and the hot topics of data privacy and GDPR. Following the seminar there will be the opportunity to network and make new connections over a drink on our 9th floor terrace.CPD

At the upcoming seminar, specialists Stewart Perry, Kit Jarvis, Michelle Shean, James Warren and Renzo Marchini from Fieldfisher will discuss the new General Data Protection Regulations ("GDPR") and recent developments in employment law with relevance to distressed businesses. Many in the industry will be wondering whether the GDPR and TUPE regulations will be relevant after Brexit. They will have heard of the potentially massive fines that face businesses for breach of GDPR, suggestions that it will be more difficult to undertake data sales, the recent Unison Supreme Court decision, and be considering the impact of the new gender pay gap legislation. We will look at the key issues for those investing in financially distressed businesses, those looking at taking roles in such businesses and those who are acting for them.

We are also delighted to welcome Jenni Hallam as our guest speaker for the evening.

Jenni will present to the audience “  The 3 secrets everyone should know to immediate self-empowerment .”

In this powerful & courageous speech, Jenni Hallam details how she overcame a potentially life-threatening illness which left her unable to walk and having to relearn that basic skill. Taking 18 months and with incredible tenacity, she continues to drive towards her business and personal goals even today. She will share her story exactly how she took the decision to walk again, how she got herself way outside of her comfort zone to begin with and the inner resources she used to get herself literally back on her feet.

Her secrets to self empowerment are incredibly versatile and the audience will be able to take her advice and recreate those strategies immediately in both Business and Personal contexts.

The evening is also a great opportunity to network with peers, to expand your network and to get a feel for how others are dealing with the sorts of issues which all of us encounter within the sector.
